Live edge ash coffee table

📍Des Moines, IA

The client wanted a centerpiece that felt organic but still worked with their modern interior. We selected a wide ash slab with a natural live edge from a family tree they had previously cut down , paired it with forged trapezoid legs, and finished it with a hard-wearing finish that lets the grain speak for itself.

Round Walnut Dining Table

📍Ames, IA

The client needed a dining table that could seat up to six but still feel sculptural, something that worked as a centerpiece, not just furniture. We built a solid walnut top with a smooth, rounded edge and paired it with a custom powder-coated steel base featuring a twisted multi-leg design that draws the eye from every angle.

Practicality was just as important as aesthetics. The top unscrews from the base, so even though it's a substantial piece, you can break it down and get it through a door when you need to move it.

Cedar Catio and Covered Patio

📍Iowa

This was a full outdoor living build for both the family and their cats. At 37 feet long, 8 feet wide, and 9 feet tall, the structure divides into two connected spaces: a covered patio for the owners and a fully enclosed catio that takes up the larger portion of the footprint.

The catio side was built to give cats a real outdoor experience without any of the risk. Cedar framing and hardware cloth enclose the space, while the interior is packed with enrichment: multi-level walkways, a rope suspension bridge, wall-mounted perches, a grass-covered hideaway box, and a hammock hanging from the ceiling joists. Everything was designed and built from scratch to fit the specific yard and the specific cats.

Cedar was chosen for its natural resistance to moisture and insects, making it a smart long-term choice for a permanent outdoor structure in the Midwest.
